LG GW620

The other day I had a chance to hold in hands the first Android smartphone from the company LG GW620. Quite compact with a 3-inch touch screen is made in the form factor of the side slider with qwerty-kalaviatura.

The smartphone was quite interesting and pleasant to the eye. The upper part of the slider is glossy with plastic elements made under metal, the bottom is a nice soft touch.
On the front of the slider: The speaker, the front camera and the photosensitive sensor are all underlined by a neat insert of plastic performed under metal. The display is three inches, the resolution is 320x480 pixels, 262,144 colors, smoothly turning into a surface with two touch keys and one large mechanical button for calling a special menu from five sections: Add, Wallpaper, Search, Notification and Setting (the other sections were not installed) . And the final element is a glossy edging. All of this is pretty tame, and fingerprints remain just like on any other glossy surface.


On the rear panel: The camera is one and a half millimeters raised in contrast to all elements of the body, as well as a flash, the rest is occupied by the battery cover.


Under the cover we find the battery with a capacity of 1500 mAh. One charge lasts about three days of using a smartphone, with loads per day up to an hour for calls, as well as an hour or two of Wi-Fi and GPS work. But to open the lid and get the battery is problematic because the lid bends quite strongly, there is a slight danger to break it, and the battery sits tight, so I can say hello to lovers to carry a few sims with me)
On the left side is a micro-usb connector for charging / synchronizing with a PC. Next, just below is the volume adjustment keys.

At the top there is a button on / off / lock the smartphone. And 3.5 headset jack. Since the headset was lost somewhere, the Sennheiser PX100 headphones were stuck, the sound quality even pleased.



On the right side of the slider is a microSD connector. There are also shortcut buttons for the music player and camera on the panel.



Nothing is located at the bottom



The slider opens as standard in the right side. Immediately catches the eye 5-lowercase qwerty-keyboard. By the way, the keyboard is excellent, the keys seem to be raised above the panel, and they do not touch each other while being oval, it is very pleasant and easy to press on them (those who will appreciate the big parades).

After opening, the picture on the display turns to a horizontal position, the manufacturer says that LG GW620 has an accelerometer. But it only works when the slider is open, which I do not quite understand.


The charger is normal, not very “designer”, although quite compact, it can be something prettier in the main supply.



Well looked turned. Now let's look inside.
After pressing the power button in 30 seconds, Google Android 1.5 appears in front of us. runs on linux kernel 2.6.27
Navigating on the smartphone is pretty “Frisky” there are no delays, the icons on pressing react almost instantly, even if you run several applications, no “Brakes” are noticed.
Immediately get into the eyes of the application from Google: Gmail, Google Maps, Google Talk, Market, You Tube. Apparently, the phone is focused on social networks as there are Twitter and FaceBook with qwerty keyboard, these services will be especially convenient)
The Navitel navigator is also present, but as it turned out with the maps of Kiev it did not work out and it opened only a white sheet, but the compass works quite quickly and determines the coordinates very quickly thanks to A-GPS.
The audio player is quite simple, there are no settings, what gave it and plays. GW620 is equipped with FM radio !!! simple, and at one point very nice function, although it does not support RDS .
The 5-megapixel one turned out to be not quite an autofocus, though. I was pleasantly surprised by the support for DviX H264 (in playback mode and with a picture resolution of up to 800x480) But when recording, we get H263 video and no more than 320x240. But that's just without a memory card camera, player, alas, are not available. Most likely the bundle will be a map of the n-th number of gigabytes, while it is still unknown. ))
