Micrsoft claims OpenSource infringes 235 patents

Steve Ballmer and his associates began the eternal song again, about patents and Linux. As they say at Microsoft: “42 patents relate to the Linux kernel and modules responsible for interaction with hardware, 65 patents to various user elements - menus, tools for drawing components, interfaces and the like, 45 patents owned by Microsoft Office were discovered in document processing and printing systems, 15 patents in e-mail systems, and another 68 patents in various programs that are not part of Linux, but are actively used in it. ”

The company is currently trying to think of a way to get royalties.

In my opinion, a completely ridiculous situation, one-on-one repeating recent events. Ballmer is again abandoned by the chairs, will cross, but it will end by creating another site asking for the parts of the code that violate the patents, and Microsoft will ignore this call.
