Space Robot Robonaut 2

Ten years after the first project, NASA and DARPA presented the second prototype of a cosmonaut robot. The task of Robonaut 2 is to replace a person during spacewalks, as well as carrying out repair work in depressurized compartments. Theoretically, the android should copy the human movement of the operator, but in practice it is not very good at it yet. Nevertheless, the new model is much faster and stronger than the first prototype. In particular, the maximum weight that Robonaut can “squeeze” has increased to 9 kg. For space, it is clear that such progress is useless, but in the long term Robonaut can also be used on earth to eliminate the consequences of a nuclear power plant explosion, for example.
