Softline: Award "Soft of the Year - 2009"

Together with our partner, Mail.Ru, we launched a vote for the Software of the Year 2009 software award.

We hold the “Soft of the Year” annually for the third time. With its help, we want to point out and support worthy Russian software products, as well as to draw users' attention to them. Last year, for the 271 programs that participated in the vote, 19,000 users voted. The winners were both products of market leaders (for example, Kaspersky Labs and ABBYY), as well as programs of small companies and individual developers. So, “Soft of the Year” is, one can say, a people's award, participation and victory in which is available to everyone.

This year, the competition goes in seven categories: "Internet and Communications", "System", "Security", "Design and Multimedia", "Science and Education", "Home and Family" and "Business Programs". According to the results of two-week user voting, the top 10 programs in each nomination will be released in the final (a kind of “second round”), and from February 15 to 28 users will vote only for these programs. March 2, 2010 we will summarize the voting.

We invite Habr's readers to offer voting programs and support them. Nominating a program to vote is very simple - on the Award website or directly from the program page in the Soft@Mail.Ru catalog , but you can also just write the name of the program in the comments to this post - we will add it to the vote. Only please note that only Russian programs can participate in the voting.

As the experience of the past years of the Prize has shown, those programs that have an active and friendly community (which is a sign of a quality and popular product) win. So, if you like some kind of software, then call for a vote and your friends and colleagues, who also use it.
