Recently, a USB modem came into my hands - an old ZTE 8700, which it was decided to use to solve the last mile issue in a house outside the city. The test showed that the signal is present, but the connection is rather unstable - the modem randomly switches from EV-DO mode to 1x, and sometimes it even breaks the connection altogether. Operational googling showed the need to use a USB "Y" adapter, which once completed this device, but eventually sank into oblivion from one of the previous owners. It looks like a miracle or so
In the nearby stores of this miracle was not, ordering on Amazon, paying money and waiting while they deliver - not our method, especially since
simple usb cords around in bulk
the length of the proposed products does not suit me very much, I wanted at least 1.5m to search for a place with the highest signal level
the electric circuit is available to almost anyone who knows which side the soldering iron is holding

You can use any suitable cables, I liked the quality of half meter from APC UPS, which were soldered to the USB expansion slot from the old motherboard. A small nuance - the planar body kit around the vending connector needs to be cleaned with a soldering iron, leaving only the large electrolytic filter capacitor at + 5V.
Alternatively, you can bump near the connector of one cable to another and isolate the connection.
