The Mag is the new fucking king


Last week came the game MAG: Massive Action Game ( Wikipedia , blog , forum ).

This is an exclusive PS3 game, at first glance it looks like a first-person shooter, on a closer look it turns out that this is more of a tactical command MMO shooter.

The main features of the game:

- up to 256 (!) Players on one card.
- huge cards, with all that it implies.
- the lack of a single game (training does not count).
- the absence of non-command modes, such as Deathmatch (you can certainly try to play like that, but first, you will be quickly killed, and secondly, because of a long respawn, the desire to run-and-gun will quickly disappear).
- health when injured is not restored by itself, unlike. You can treat yourself with an injection syringe, you can also treat wounded friends with a special spray.
- the possibility of using various equipment - from the BTR to the helicopter.
- You can play for one of the three groups. One of them is SVER (Seryi Volk Executive Response).

The average critique of critics (today 18) - 78% . The variation is from 70 to 90. Interestingly, the average score of the players (take the gamespot, 853 votes) is 8.4 / 10 .

We can single out some thoughts repeated by Western players in their reviews:
- the game is deep, hardcore, not for everyone.
- the main buzz is in the team game.
- it is desirable to have a microphone to talk with members of your team.

Until now, the concept of subordination in team shooters was absent: well, in fact, stupidity - how can you command impudent schoolchildren, who usually play like this? With MAG, everything is different, unity of command is a matter of life and death. Here you need to think a lot and for different reasons : quickly determine the optimal combination of weapons for each game mode, understand your role on the battlefield and at least understand what is happening and where everyone is running. For submission to orders, by the way, additional points are awarded that allow you to become a commander in due course - a devilishly effective system.
MAG does not look like anything from the PlayStation 3 catalog and is not much like anything in modern games. This is a soldier simulator in a much larger sense than even the official game of the American Army America's Army: Operations. MAG completely erased the individuality of the player;
