The current calculations for the remaining work on Opera 10.50 show that we will achieve the quality of the final product on Windows earlier than on other platforms. Thus, we decided to allow Windows users not to wait for the completion of work on versions for other platforms and release the final version for them a bit earlier. In the near future, you will see how we reach the beta stage for Windows, while Mac and Linux will reach the beta stage around the time that Opera 10.50 on Windows is already close to release. Obviously, when the Windows version reaches the final stage, we will focus our attention on bringing the version for other platforms to the same quality and as soon as possible. We also expect this to be an exception to our operating principles, meaning that in the future we will release final versions for all platforms at one time.

The return of the "penguin" and widgets for the desktop

This build contains a kernel update with a large number of regressions corrected. Many functions in 10.50 become more stable or work again as in version 10.10. Also, widgets can again work as standalone applications, as was previously implemented in alpha version 10.20. And finally, the Linux builds are back!

UPD : From myself I will add that this assembly can already be used. The list of changes is quite impressive. A lot of extremely unpleasant bugs have been fixed, the interface has been tweaked and slightly improved, and, of course, stability has noticeably increased. Personally, I was very pleased with the following:

• Fixed crash when copying links - hooray, comrades!
• Replaced stupid blue key button (password wizard).
• Added substrate under the buttons and labels in the status bar. Prior to that, on the dark themes of the aero was simply unreadable.
• Fixed a bug with the missing context menu for text.
• Fixed a bug with a missing context menu for forms in dialog boxes.
• The main menu is now in one column, not two. Unusually, but convenient.
• The expanded folders in the bookmarks pane are no longer collapsed upon restarting.
• Scrolling with the middle mouse button works again.
• While no crash (pah-pah-pah).
• Liked the improved search. And in this assembly, I did not have problems with the encoding for Yandex.
• Corrected the width of drop-down lists on toolbars. Now they are the same width as the text fields.
• They killed Facebook and did not fix VKontakte. Now I don’t even go there once a year.

When Dragonfly, Unite, and “Go to Web Address” are repaired and there are no problems with saving anything, then I will be just as happy as a child.
