Google refuses to support IE 6

So the future is here. Today, I, as the domain holder with Google Apps, received a letter from which I learned that Google refuses in 2010 the old browsers in favor of browsers that support HTML 5. The free translation and the original letter can be viewed under Habrakat.

Dear administrator.

In order to further improve our products and implement more complex functions and increase productivity, we are mastering some of the latest improvements in web browser technology. This includes fast processing of JavaScript and new standards, such as HTML 5. As a result, during 2010 we will phase out support for Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, as well as other older browsers that are not supported by their own manufacturers.
')
We are planning to start phasing out support for these old browsers on Google Docs and Google Sites by March 1, 2010. After this date, some functionality within these applications may not work correctly in older browsers. Later, in 2010, we will begin a phased abandon of support for these browsers for both Google Mail and Google Calendar.

Google Apps will continue to support Internet Explorer 7.0 and above, Firefox 3.0 and above, Google Chrome 4.0 and above, and Safari 3.0 and above.

Starting next week, users of outdated browsers will see a message in Google Docs and Google Sites inviting them to update their browser. We will also alert you again closer by March 1 to recall this change.

Respectfully,

Google Apps Team

Something in the translation is omitted due to no significance, but the essence is clear - Google officially declares that it will no longer support IE 6. Long live the evil empire of Google.

Under the link the initial letter.
