Mobile Radar

Nokia Research Center announced a radar prototype that is small enough to be embedded in mobile devices.

In addition to the possibility of determining the speed and direction of a separate person (it's hard to imagine why this is necessary), the video gives an example of its use for recognizing simple user gestures.

Judging by what I saw, this version is directed, i.e. Scans a specific direction, not the area around the device.
