The Moscow office of the English school SCHOOL # 1 is located on the attic floor of the old mansion on Pyatnitskaya.

The author of the corporate style and interior of the school - Alex Mikhailov (Alex Mikhaylov) - designer, author of identity and video for Moscow Eurovision.

SCHOOL # 1 is different from the traditional image of the school. Its creators wanted to get rid of the stereotypes associated with language courses as much as possible and make a club of interests rather.

Conducting various thematic educational activities in the office of SCHOOL # 1 constantly justifies the functionality of the interior, and also proves that interesting design in many respects contributes to the assimilation of knowledge.

A large audience that serves as a class for daily classes in small groups, if necessary, is transformed into a “hall” for larger-scale events.

Periodically, the school organizes screenings of films in English, which take place in the lobby: the screen is set, and sometimes the image is simply projected onto the wall. The audience is located on the couch and on the armchairs-pears.

On the walls of the school, instead of the usual symbols of language courses (Big Ben and the alphabet) quotes in English by Muhammad Ali, a half-liter mouse, Ozzy Osborne and other famous characters.

Classes are held in classrooms with brick walls, skylights, colorful chairs and glass on an easel instead of a flipchart.
