Self-motivation: my 5 kopecks to the conversation

All ingenious is simple!

Recently, I started reading the book “Organization of Time” by Gleb Arkhangelsky . Literally forced myself. Before I started, I belonged to the category of people who “ do not have enough time to read a book about the organization of time ”.

And changes began to occur literally before my eyes. And not only I felt them myself, but my relatives and friends noticed changes.
I think the secret is in simplicity and adaptation to the Russian realities of the tools proposed by Gleb.

Step # 1

I confess right away that I have not finished reading the book, but it is already acting on me. In the first chapter, immediately after the introduction, Gleb offers to keep a timing of his actions. What this means in practice: you need to write down every 15–30 minutes in a notebook what you have done during this time. My notes there looked like this:

* I really do exercises at least 2 times a day - it really tones up! In the morning to warm up, literally 10 minutes, in the late afternoon - power.
In order to remember to take notes, I set a timer on the phone. The book is strongly asked not to change its rhythm of life and record actions as honestly as possible. There is a curious example from the life described in the book that no one has been able to live as old for more than 2 months. Apparently, this is true. I lasted 2 days, after which I chose for myself the first and simple improvement in my pastime: I spend 45 minutes on the job - it could be work or as it was in my case a week ago - preparation for exams. 15 minutes is a good distraction. My dishes, ironing, tidying up - domestic affairs.

Step 2

The second step I took: I formulated goals and sub-goals, sometimes even specific tasks that I need to do in all areas of life: home, work, study, self-development. I wrote it on a piece of paper in a gadget called a notebook, which automatically appears when I download it (thanks, Google). Looking at it, I see a lot of options for activities that will lead to the fulfillment of certain goals, and in total with the motivator in the form of the amount of time being wasted, this gives its fruits and encourages useful activities.

I recommend that people who are interested in self-development or are looking for motivators, try this method - the timing of their actions. At best, read a book, the book sets out a variety of tools for processing purposes and planning. It is just fun to read.
