iPad - iFail or iWin?

They waited! It is finished! Weeks and months of speculation, rumors are almost more than around the long-awaited “Apple's phone”, hundreds of fakes - and so what?

Honestly, I was waiting for something more. I don’t see a real use-case for this device and I’m not sure that it will find its buyer (and if it does, it’s not at all on the scale of the iPhone).

For e-books 10 hours is quite a bit - e-ink gives many times more. For web surfing, a home laptop is better - I want not only to read the status of my friends on Facebook, but also to answer them, and for this it is better to have a hardware keyboard. For watching movies ... perhaps. But not for music - it is too big.


Gaming platform?



Yes, probably. But how long will it last without recharging when playing NFS Shift?



Reading newspapers? Again, Kindle with its business model wins and wins easily and naturally due to the longer lifetime of the device and the built-in 3G module.

Contrary to many opinions, I do not think that this device will kill half the market and bury Microsoft, and Intel, and all the rest. A netbook is more convenient for surfing the web - if you want to respond to your friends, and should I say that the iPad still does not understand Adobe Flash? For e-books, e-ink is more convenient - if you do not want to worry about charging. For music, iPod is more convenient - it is small and fits in my shirt pocket. Probably (or even - perhaps) this device will find its niche and its users, but I guess I will not be mistaken if I say that there will not be a wild rush such as it was around the iPhone.

It seems to me that this time Akela missed - no matter how bitter and offensive it would be to admit it. What do you think about this topic?

Update: There is a 3G and costs $ 499, is sold unlocked. Does this make a difference? Or simply exacerbates the scale of the tragedy?
