Eh youth! Modding Siemens SL45

I decided to make my first post on Habré not quite normal, as it happened - I stumbled upon my old, old Saito blog, made back in 2002 on free hosting by one of the many web-constructors.

The post was devoted to modding the then-current Siemens SL45, SLIK or Donkey popularly.

I ask you not to blame strongly for the quality of the photos, then I didn’t have any digital stills and I filmed everything on a video camera, and from the video sequence there were still shots. And the spelling and style remained untouched, with the exception of some obvious errors and inaccuracies.

What is required:

This is what I painted:

On the left, by the way, there is a spray with liquid for cleaning the radio-boards of grease and other contaminants, I am sure you will find it useful too.
The second and third from the left are balloons with black and red paint from “ABRO”, but better is better. If the red lay down well, then it took the black one twice and eventually acquired SADOLYN - it went perfectly the first time (the fourth balloon).
The fifth is “MOTIP” lacquer, covered with red paint, black looks great without varnish, plus its strength was higher than the combination of red paint + varnish.

On the left - the “new” used housing)), in the center - the original “slick”, on the right - the experimental model, already painted and with a sawn off antenna.

This is what happens if you do not remove its native coating: copper and silver on top. Paint swoops down:

So, the process itself.
Rip off the coating:

Ferric chloride can be used to clean complex surfaces, it is used in the radio industry to etch tracks in the board. You need to use very carefully, because it is very effective at eating metal surfaces! If a drop falls on the Slick board, you can safely throw it away, it is almost impossible to restore such thin tracks.

Skins all:

Now you can paint!

Final result.

Do not forget to clean the holes against the microphone:

Illumination, by the way, I changed before painting. The display is highlighted in white, the keyboard from blue turns to orange and then to red:

By the way, the new case turned out to be an eye for a “noose” on the neck:

That's all.
