According to the monthly Mobile Internet usage report, Facebook has become the world's most popular social network among Opera Mini users. In 2009, the number of unique visitors to Facebook increased by 600%, which allowed it to shift the social network VKontakte from the leading positions. Twitter was the growth leader - the number of unique Opera Mini users calling on this microblogging service in 2009 increased by 2,800%.

General Report Data
- The number of Opera Mini users in December 2009 was 46.3 million, which is 11% more than in November and 159% more than in December 2008.
- 46.3 million users per month viewed more than 20.7 billion pages. This is 10.1% more than in November and 112% more than in December 2008.
- In December 2009, Opera Mini users generated 315 million megabytes of traffic for operators around the world - November results exceeded by 10.5%. Opera Mini allows you to compress data up to 90%. Thus, the total amount of data processed by the browser in December amounted to 2.9 petabytes. Compared with December 2008, traffic increased by 206%.
- The top 10 countries in the number of Opera Mini users compared with the previous month has changed. In December, it included: Russia, Indonesia, India, Ukraine, China, South Africa, USA, Vietnam, Nigeria and the UK. The number of users in Ukraine has become more than in China, Vietnam continues to grow rapidly and overtake the UK, and Nigeria, after a three-month absence, returned to the Top-10 list, for the first time pushing Poland out of it.
- In 2009, Facebook became the most popular social network in the world, based on the number of Opera Mini users. However, in the Russian-speaking countries, the championship still belongs to VKontakte.
- Twitter has earned the title of the fastest growing: in 2009, the number of Opera Mini users accessing this service grew by 2,800%.
- Almost all social networks, with the exception of Friendster, in 2009 showed a significant increase in the number of users.
- The number of web pages viewed using Opera Mini from Russia increased by 94.1% by December 2009, and the number of unique browser users increased by 78.7% (compared to the data at the beginning of the year). On average, each user per month viewed 425 pages, and the volume of each page averaged 21 KB (after compression).
- The number of Opera Mini users in Ukraine for the year increased by 140.6%, and the pages they viewed increased by 275.8%. Each user reviewed an average of 700 pages, and the average page size was 19 KB (after compression). Yahoo! returned to the Top 10 most visited sites, displacing YouTube.
