Today, we are pleased to present you a new stable version of Google Chrome for Windows, which includes two of the most frequently used functions in browsers: extensions and bookmarks.
Extensions allow you to add functionality to your browser. Some provide easy access to your favorite resources to apps like eBay or digg, or news and information such as NPR and Time.com. Others are useful for optimizing, customizing, and performing some online tasks, such as viewing photos or shopping.

We have already
launched extensions to the
beta channel , and programmers from around the world have contributed to the development of many new extensions. At the moment, you can view more than 1500 in our
extension gallery and install them on a new stable version of Google Chrome.
Bookmark syncing is especially convenient for those of you who use multiple computers — say, a laptop at work, and a PC at home. You can
turn on bookmark synchronization , and if you create a bookmark on one computer, it is automatically added to all your computers with synchronization
turned on . This means that you no longer need to manually re-create a bookmark every time you change your computer.
You can learn more about today's release (including performance improvements) in the
Google Chrome Blog . If you want to "dig under the hood" and find out what's new this update carries for web developers (new HTML and Javascript API), you are not in
Chromium Blog .
For those who use Google Chrome on Linux, extensions are available on the
beta channel . For those using Google Chrome on Mac - we are working on enabling extensions, syncing bookmarks and much more. Those who use the stable version for Windows will automatically
upgrade over the next week (you can
upgrade manually ).
If you have not tried Google Chrome yet, you can simply
download it along with the new functionality.
