Energy Roof Coop Himmelb (l) au, Italy

Over a small Italian passage, in the city of Perugia, there is an unusual energy roof. This project was commissioned by the city authorities, by Coop Himmelb (l) au and supervised by the city university, as part of a historical program.

The construction of the energy roof Coop Himmelb (l) au consists of three layers. The lower part of the roof is made of dense fiberglass, the surface of which adorns the view for the audience. At the top are solar panels (photovoltaic cells), and in the middle are wind turbines.

The energy produced by the roof is enough to supply the nearest metro station, as well as to cover the archaeological excavations in the next street. The energy-roof is located above Via Mazzini, the western part of which is oriented towards the sun, eastern towards the wind.

The Energy Roof project does not end there, in the future it is planned to build more than one, almost a home power station. In order not to interfere with the townspeople to admire the beautiful sunny sky, the maximum length of sheds was limited to 10 meters.
