Earth photos on Google Earth will speak
In the updated version of Google Earth, users can not only see satellite photos of any regions of the Earth, but also hear sounds characteristic of the observed area. This will be possible thanks to the forty-year work of Bernie Kraus, who collected the sounds of nature from all over the world, according to The Register.
In total, Krause and his colleagues from the Wild Sanctuary company (Wild Reserve) recorded 3.5 thousand hours of sounds of nature. Moreover, the sounds of the world are recorded in accordance with the time of day: if the user views a photo during the day, for example, some jungle, he will hear a completely different set of sounds from what will sound at night.
The audio add-on for Google Earth will be available for download on May 29th.
