Jump into the unknown

This is Felix Baumgartner. He is going to climb to a height of 120,000 feet (36576 meters) and jump from there. If he succeeds in accomplishing this, he will become the first person to whom the sound barrier has obeyed without using a vehicle. He was helped to prepare by Joseph Kittinger, who in 1960 made a stratospheric jump from a height of 102,800 feet (31,333 meters) - a record that could not be beaten for 50 years.



The jump will be made in April of this year. No one can predict exactly how the human body will react to the transition to supersonic speeds, it will truly be a leap into the unknown.
