The known universe
The Known Universe is a video made by scientists at the American Museum of Natural Science to help people imagine what our immense Universe looks like. The video begins with the Himalayan mountains, then the camera gradually moves away, picking up speed, showing the Earth satellites, the sun, the solar system, the Milky Way galaxy, the closest and furthest from us galaxies that have been studied at the moment.
Each object in the video was rendered, according to the latest scientific research in 2009, because here all scales and orbits are fully taken into account. In my opinion, the video perfectly reflects how small our huge planet is all the same compared to the Universe. In general, watch and enjoy =)
