The Deputy Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation
(Yuri Kalinin) and the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security
(Vladimir Vasilyev) yesterday
(January 19) told the Vesti TV channel that a new type of
punishment is being introduced in Russia
- restriction of
liberty - and in 2010 they will release a whole series of electronic bracelets designed to track the geographic coordinates of convicts using two
systems at once
- GLONASS and GPS. Ultimately, such bracelets will be used by tens of thousands.
Inspired by Dmitry Yuryevich Puchkov’s
fantasy system (who first called himself Goblin, then, in the film “The Fellowship and the Ring,” he called the orcs uriks), this new category of convicted criminals
(sentenced to restriction of liberty) can probably be called
ogre. Perhaps it will come out even more melodiously than if you wait until the derogatory word
(like “homeless” or “convicts”) is born among law enforcement officers, corresponding to
their mundane and rough life .
And the very purpose of such a bracelet suggests fantasy and the magic items there. As you can see, the process has begun. The video in the digital photo frame migrated to the real world from Hogwarts, the flexible display of a stereo video phone (with a touch screen supporting
many hands ) is preparing to step into the real world from Amber, and now the bracelets that are seen, radio-visible from afar, like the Ring sensed Nazgul.
