In any kind of creative work there are moments when brain activity decreases. You sit, you understand what to do, you need to think of something, but nothing sensible comes to mind. Such moments are not only not pleasant, but also fraught with all sorts of punishments, mostly, of course, material ones.
For a long time I tried to fight this state, but nothing good came of it. We had to somehow make excuses to the leadership or customers, to listen to many unflattering words in his address. As a result, the mood deteriorated, and the work remained in the same place until a bright thought visited my head.
There is a great way to search for ideas - view analogs. Yes, the method is good, but often, when used, copies are obtained, sometimes much worse than the original. Such work did not suit both me and the leadership. Yes, the work was done on time, but the money was received, but you look at it after some time and you understand what to put in the portfolio or in the portfolio. After some time, such work accumulates a lot. And this is not very happy.
Recently I discovered a completely different way of stimulating my brain and consider it to be the most successful at the moment. I do not want to impose it on anyone, but perhaps there will be those to whom he will help create good projects and enjoy the work done.

The point is very simple. It is necessary to come up with some mini-projects that will take half an hour of working (or non-working) time. First of all, projects should be of interest to you. They should also have a logical continuation, so that during the period of “brain stagnation,” you can return to them and distract your brain a little from the daily routine.
For me, the first such project was “Typos”. Because I really like typography, and especially pictures using only symbols. No serious things in it did not lay. A thought came to mind that can be reflected with the help of only fonts, sat down - did. Everything. After some time, you can switch to the main work.
I consider success of such mini-projects exactly simplicity. In the process of monotonous movement of the mouse, moving objects, selecting color, you can think about the main points of larger projects.
Below are a few examples of the result of "brain stimulation", I will be glad if this note will be interesting to someone, and someone will take this method into service.

The first work, by the way, is now tattooed on my hand, and two works about Helvetica are made after watching the same movie by Gary Hastvit.
