NTV + is now in HDTV
Recently, NTV + announced the launch of broadcast in HDTV format. To receive HDTV programs, subscribers of NTV-PLUS will need a new receiver that transmits the image in a digital format via HDMI directly to the plasma or LCD panels. Using the HDMI interface will avoid transcoding to analog format and, as a result, to achieve exceptional image quality in high definition. In addition, the new receiver will allow receiving all the currently existing NTV-PLUS channels and transmit them in digital form to display devices.
The price of a receiver for receiving HDTV is 16,100 rubles. It is known that the receiver will be used Thompson, which will be tightly tied to the access card. Of the minuses, it is also worth noting that the new receiver will not allow recording TV programs, it will not be possible to watch NTV + on two TVs at the same time, and the TV Guide function will be absent. Already on the site NTV + you can leave an order for new equipment. Unfortunately, in the regions the situation is more complicated. NTV + support service reported that HDTV equipment will be available in regional offices not earlier than the end of May and the beginning of June.
At the moment, there is a broadcast of three HD channels: HD Sport, HD Cinema and HD Life. The program can be found on the NTV + website. Some sources report that by the end of the year, it is planned to increase the number of channels to five. The cost of an HD package varies from 350 to 950 rubles, depending on the packages chosen, i.e. for HDTV reception, the minimum monthly subscription fee, including Basic and HD packages, will be 1,500 rubles.
