If you are currently at the stage of choosing the engine for an online store or plan to do it later, perhaps this short review will help you. In the near future, I'm going to do e-commerce, namely the opening of an online store. With a successful scenario, I may be able to please the habrasoobshchestvo interesting articles on this topic, but for now, I suggest you a small overview of the engines and topic for discussion.
Requirements that we formulated for the engine:
- Flexible extensibility
- SEO (CNC, the ability to prescribe meta tags for each product, etc.)
- Convenient admin panel
- Multilingual (multilingual content)
- System of promotions and discounts
- Ability to compare products ( not critical, but very desirable )
- Payment system support ( not critical, but desirable )
Further, having analyzed the n-th number of engines, we stopped our choice, for a more detailed analysis, on the following:
Drupal and OpenCart are free solutions, as far as OpenCart is concerned, it’s difficult to draw any conclusions, I don’t know this system, and I have had little experience with Drupal, I liked the system as a whole. Flexibility and extensibility that it provides, can do almost anything, probably, therefore, our choice is currently leaning towards it.

WebAsyst Shop-Script is already a commercial product, the cost of which varies from 7, 950 rubles. up to 19,950 rubles depending on the number of modules required. According to the developers themselves, the system is expandable, how well I don’t know, so I can’t judge.
We also considered UMI.CMS and, in general, the system fully satisfied our requirements, but the cost was too high, 29,990 rubles. played its role and we were forced to abandon it.
By the way, WebAsyst Shop Script has also increased, but the discount is still present, but it is important to note that as early as December, one could buy the full version for ~ 7 thousand rubles, and the crossed out price was ~ 13,950 rubles . Now they have raised the basic (crossed out) price and are selling at a “discount”, all for 13,950 rubles. Cunning. :)
It is also important to note one more thing, extensibility. For our online store, this is a rather critical moment. None of the finished products fully meets our rather high requirements. Accordingly, before choosing a CMS, you also need to understand the price that you need to pay for extensions.
Unfortunately, the deadlines are tight and I cannot complete the initial idea. It was planned to make a detailed review of various engines of online stores, but due to many circumstances and time, it does not work, so I propose to bring this topic into discussion.
I would be very grateful for the advice and recommendations regarding the choice of engine for the online store.
