Internet Explorer vulnerability exploited in Google
Microsoft has confirmed the use of the previously undetected vulnerability of the Internet Explorer browser in an attack on Google and Adobe, due to which Google could leave the Chinese market.
A security bulletin published on January 14th reports the details of the vulnerability. For a successful attack, the user must go to a malicious page on the Internet. The bulletin says that the protected mode of the browser used in Vista and Windows 7 reduces the threat of attack. It also points to Microsoft’s close work with Google and Adobe in identifying attack details and vulnerability information.
