LG's 19-inch e-paper flex

LG Display has announced the creation of flexible e-paper newspaper format and thickness. The screen dimensions are 25x40 centimeters, which corresponds to a 19-inch diagonal, thickness - 0.3 mm.

The company managed to create such a screen thanks to the use of a foil substrate, whereas glass substrates are commonly used in the production of electronic paper.

The appearance of the 19-inch format does not mean that in the near future we will see readers based on it. At least until the fall, LG will master production of the previous size - 11.5 inches, which was first shown six months ago. However, this size will be enough to compete with tablets. It can be expected that the 19-inch format will be put into production by the end of 2010 or the beginning of 2011.
