On May 18, a seminar entitled “Semantic layout” will be held in the Extropolis conference hall, which will continue a series of training seminars under the auspices of the
RIT-2007 conference held in April. The seminar will be held by speakers of the “Client Programming” section:
- Vadim Makeev (your humble servant, he's pepelsbey , the author of the blog http://pepelsbey.net , the author of the report "CSS-management" at RHS-2007, a participant in the WSG- Russia)
- Alexey Rybakov (he is flack , the author of the blog http://flack.ru , the author of the sensational report “Testing Layout” at RHS-2007, a participant of the WSG- Russia)
The workshop will be divided into four topics:
- Looking for meaning: separation of the document content from its presentation
- Overview of all aspects of code and document semantics: structure, element naming, microformats
- Advantages of code, pages and sites created taking into account semantics
- Start today: examples of transforming the “soup from the tags” into a slim, clear and semantically correct code
We decided in advance to abandon the boring academic style of presentation.
The basis of the seminar is live communication: we have something to tell, and you probably have something to ask. We are pleased to tell and answer.
Do you think that semantics is a dubious, pointless and inapplicable topic today?
We will try to convince you of the opposite, tell you how the leading Western and Russian developers use semantics today, and what advantages it gives.
The seminar is designed for a wide range of web development specialists: project managers, department heads, developers.
