Palm has awarded prizes worth a million dollars for software developers who will show a record number of downloads from February 1 to May 31, 2010. The creators of both paid and free programs can apply for a million dollars. In the first case, the total amount of sales is taken into account. For the first place in each of the two categories a separate prize of $ 100 thousand is established. Another 20 programs in each category will receive $ 10 thousand, and 200 programs will receive $ 1000.

Last year, Palm released an SDK for webOS, and since then, about a thousand applications have been released for the Palm Pre and Pixi smartphones. Now the application directory Project Appetite is open, and developers can do mini-stores on its base and track statistics including downloads.

For the Game Developers Conference in March, Palm is about to release an extension for the webOS SDK that allows you to apply C and C ++ source codes.
