News and not news at all (according to the criterion of novelty), but there wasn’t on Habré, so I’m risking it.It will be useful to those who use anti-virus products from Symantec (versions 11 and 12).
The bug is non-critical , but it is strange that such a grandee as Symantec has it.
In short, SEPM all updates older than 31 December 11:59 are marked as “out of date”. In Symantec, the problem is solved so far simply - updates are released with the date of December 31, 2009, their audit number changes.
For particularly paranoid users, this can be scary: “How? Today is January 11, and updates are only from December 31 !!! Get away My computer is in danger! ” But in general, of course, more interesting than dangerous. :)
A couple of rhetorical questions:
- they probably have there ALREADY celebrating the new year? And I thought they were all soulless robots :))
- we will make bets - when will they be fixed? Today (January 11) update rev121 has been released. Soon two weeks as goes bug fixes.
