Walt Disney has created a social network for children.

Yesterday, Walt Disney Corporation launched a beta version of a social network that is designed for children under the age of fourteen. Young users of the Disney Xtreme Digital (DXD) network can create pages like on MySpace, reports Reuters.

Children can choose files on the Disney site with games, videos and music and place them on their DXD profiles. You can decorate your personal page with pictures from the extensive Disney collection. However, the company allows only limited use of its content on children's pages and protects its images from free online distribution. For each action in Disney Xtreme Digital, children will earn points, they are allowed to spend on the purchase of a variety of virtual goods, with which you can personalize the page.

A distinctive feature of DXD is that parents will be able to control the activities of their children on the Internet. They will be able to prohibit or allow certain functions, for example, children will need parental approval to participate in the chat.

DXD can only be used by those Internet users who have high-speed online access. For now, the Disney Xtreme Digital Children's Social Network is only available to young residents of the United States
