Browser usage statistics for December 2009 according to StatCounter

The most interesting moments were shown by browser usage statistics according to StatCounter for the Russian Federation.
In December 2009, a miracle happened - for the first time in the history of IE, it took only the 3rd place (30.15%) in the aggregate of all versions . Opera was confidently placed on the first (31.73%), and Firefox was on the second with a slight lag (31.02%).
According to statistics for individual versions, Firefox 3.5 took the first place (22.05%), Opera 10.0 (20.41%) ranked second. The third place, one might say, was shared by IE7 and IE8, scored 11.79% and 11.59%, respectively.
Next come Firefox 3.0 and Opera 9.6, scored around 7.5% percent each.
And as a New Year's gift - the share of IE6 was only 6.72%.

PS Do not forget that any statistics shows data only for a certain sample of sites. And the data for the target audience of your sites may be slightly different. In this case, the sample includes not only Russian-language sites. What in my opinion is a big plus, because Many Russians constantly visit foreign sites, but this is absolutely not taken into account in Russian statistical aggregators.
In any case, the general trend can not but rejoice, the domination of IE slowly but surely comes to an end, which means it was not for nothing that NoIE actions were conducted in the educational program among ordinary users.
