A somewhat loose translation of the article “What Beautiful HTML Code Looks Like.” Perhaps it will seem to someone known, but the possibility of once again systematizing knowledge never hurts, I'm sure.
I wrote this article more than two years ago. But now, with the advent of HTML5, which made HTML even more beautiful than XHTML 1.1, it has become a bit irrelevant, so I updated it.
Usually I try to view the page code (View source) of every pleasant site I come across. This is something like X-ray glasses, which allow you to see any person you have ever seen in underwear here and now, according to your desire. Cool, isn't it? This simple feature allows you to see whether its code is good or its beauty is superficial. Code? Nice? Of course. After all, in the end, the code is poetry. And despite the fact that HTML may not be as complex and sophisticated as a dynamic language, it still carries the handwriting of its creator.

What do you think makes the code beautiful? In HTML it comes down to mastery. Let's look at an example of markup and how beautiful it can and certainly should be. And here, in fact, the picture (clickable, 2000 × 2000, 770kb):

The final

PSD file that you can use if you want to change anything.
