By the beginning of the day CES Lenovo came fully armed. The company is going to officially present Skylight - presumably the first serial mobile computer with an ARM processor.
The smartbook is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon platform (1 GHz CPU-processor + 600 MHz DSP-processor) and, apart from its good looks, boasts a 10-inch display, specially sharpened for 720p HD video, that is 1280x720 pixels.

Another chip is a disk system. Skylight
offers the user a bundle of 8 GB of integrated flash memory + 4 GB USB drive + another 2 GB online. In addition, the smartbook will be supplied complete with an 8 GB microSD card. The set looks awesome. But in practice, most likely, it will be quite convenient.
Among other things, we can mention the modules Wi-Fi and 3G, two USB ports, holes for a microphone and headphones, mini-HDMI, a mono speaker, and a 1.3 megapixel webcam. The computer runs Linux and features a widget based interface. Widgets can be downloaded from the Web, and on the Smartbook itself there are already 18 options installed: access to Facebook, Gmail, YouTube and so on.
Due to the fact that ARM-processors very carefully handle the battery, the new product can work autonomously for 10 hours.
Starting in April, the smartbook will be sold in the US through the AT & T network and in a couple of months sales will go to Asia and Europe. Neither Lenovo nor AT & T has yet called a subsidized price, and without a contract Skylight will be offered for $ 500.

PS By the way,
this video says that the smartbook has 14 GB of memory ... it’s unclear who to believe. Any opinions?
