Today in Opera Software
announced the appointment of
42-year-old Lars Boylesen new CEO. He replaced Jon Stefenson von Techner, who was one of the founders of the company in 1995 and has been the CEO since that time. Jon von Techner will continue to work in Opera.
Lars Boylesen has extensive experience in the IT and telecommunications industries. He started his career at Lego Group, also led the North European and Asia-Pacific markets at Tandberg Data, from 2000 to 2005 he worked at Opera Software as executive vice president of sales and marketing, in 2005 he joined Alcatel-Lucent in as CEO for Scandinavia and the Baltics. Prior to returning to Opera in January 2009, Boylesen worked as a commercial director as Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Opera Software.
“I was very glad that I was able to convince Lars to return to the company a year ago. Now I am very happy to ask him to take the position of CEO, as we continue our growth and global expansion. We have worked closely for many years, and I am sure that he is a person who can lead the Opera to a very bright future, ”said Jon von Techner.
