About 3-4 years ago I launched a small community on Google Groups , which, perhaps, turned out to be a complete mistake. I argued this way - I don’t have time to spend on updating engines and spam protection of my hobby community, we’ll create one under Google, and, as we know, there is no steeper. But it turned out that I got excited ...
There are a lot of problems there and the service as it worked crookedly, and continues to work crookedly to this day: 1) PageRank is not charged, although PR4 was 2 years ago, and now with 111 unique links from different root domains, I don’t even have a zero. As a SEO employee, it's a shame, I think, but why did the domain and the community then spread, if nothing referential, nothing, into the void. Let's go further ... 2) constant spam, which cannot be sent to the trash as if by WordPress as an automatic machine, and which almost every manual needs to be flagged, since among spam there is a lot of non-spam, in short, God forbid, the group will become popular. During the year the community gained 1,000 people, another year later another 390, so it’s not scary yet. 3) I am constantly being thrown out of the group, while I never leave my Google account, as I use almost all services. Moreover, my messages, although I am the creator of the group, are moderated and I have to extract my messages from spam filters myself. I did not see such nonsense even on self-written engines. 4) Russian codings are flying, all sorts of kryakozyabry in Chinese is a common thing. There is no end to this list and my indignation - a completely raw and abandoned Google project. What surprised me a few years ago is that they even dragged their own support forums there, so that they were not the only ones to suffer, in general, the meaning of this action on their part remains obscure. I said.
