3D Dashboard in Leopard

Apple turns again to the patent office. This time the company patents a three-dimensional Dashboard. The figure shows a cube with a set of widgets on each of its faces. A cube (in fact it can not only be a cube) can rotate, thus providing significantly more space for placing widgets on the Dashboard.

This concept fits well with the recently introduced Spaces desktop model.
In fact, the idea is not new. It is already successfully used in the Beryl system. “Innovation” Apple is only an arbitrary shape of a three-dimensional object.
