A passion for programming. Chapter 2. Acknowledgments

With a little delay from the plan, I continue to translate Chad Fowler's book “Passion for Programming”.

Chapter 2

Acknowledgments

I would never have written this book if it were not for Dave Thomas and Andy Hunt. Their book “The Programmer-Pragmatist” [1] served as a catalyst for me and from the time of its reading I was inspired by their work. If it were not for the support and guidance of Dave, I would never have considered myself sufficiently qualified to write this book.
Susannah Pfalzer edited the second edition of this book. By editing, I mean pushing, inspiring, inspiring, guiding, and of course ... editing. Her patience and ability to say the right words motivating me, rather than scaring, is just what was so necessary to complete the book. If it were not for Suzanne, the book would have remained a collection of promiscuous, half-formed ideas.
David Heinemeier Hansson, who wrote the opening remarks. His career as a partner of the 37signals project and the creator of Rails is a brilliant example of the application of the ideas underlying this book. I am also glad that other outstanding people that I encountered during my career have contributed. Many thanks to Stephen Akers, James Duncan Davidson, Vik Chadha, Mike Clark, Patrick Collison, and Tom Prestan-Werner (Tom Preston-Werner) for the inspiration of myself and the readers of my book.
To my reviewers, for valuable comments on drafts for the second edition. It is always surprising how much the first version of a chapter can be wrong and how correct a good reviewer can make it. Thanks to Sammy Larbi, Bryan Dyck, Bob Martin (Bob Martin), Kent Beck (Kent Beck), Alan Francis (Jared Richardson), Rich Downie (Rich Downie), and Erik Kastner.
Juliet Thomas, edited the first edition of the book. Her enthusiasm and vision was invaluable. I received a huge amount of feedback from reviewers of the first edition of the book: Carey Boaz, Karl Brophey, Brandon Campbell, Vic Chandha, Mauro Cicio, Mark Donoghue, Pat Euler (Pat Eyler), Ben Goodwin (Ben Goodwin), Jacob Harris (Jacob Harris), Adam Keys (Adam Keys), Steve Morris (Steve Morris), Bill Nall (Wesley Reiz), Avik Sengupta (Avik Sengupta), Kent Spillner (Kent Spillner), Sandesh Tattitali, Craig Utley, Greg Vaughn, and Peter W.A. Wood (Peter WA Wood). They helped to make the book much better and I cannot thank them too much for their time, energy and for their understanding.
To those great people with whom I had the opportunity to work both officially and unofficially for the ideas that formed the basis of this book. Thank you for listening, teaching and just talking to Donnie Webb, Ken Smith, Walter Hoehn, James McMurry, Cary Boaz, David Alan Black , Mike Clarke, Nicole Clark (Nicole Clark), Vic Chadha, Avi Bryant, Rich Kilmer, Steve Akers, Mark Gardner (Mark Gardener), Rayn Ownens, Tom Copeland (Tom Copeland), Dave Craine (Dave Craine), John Afayde (John Athayde), Marcel Molina (Marcel Molina), Eric Kostneru, Bruce Williams (Bruce Williams), David Heynemer Hanson, Ali Sarea (Ali Sareea) and Dzimu Uyamyamsu (Druy Williams), David Heynemer Hanson, Ali Sarea (Ali Sareea) and Dzhimu Uryamsu (Bruce Williams); (Jim Weirich).
Thanks to my parents for their continued support. And, most importantly, thanks to my wife Kelly for appreciating.
