RSS these days has tightly entered our lives and I, like many others, no longer see a more convenient way of tracking the appearance of new information on our favorite resources like RSS. Almost all modern web browsers and mail clients can work with RSS feeds, among them Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird, IE, Opera, etc. But besides, there are also special programs for collecting and processing information from RSS feeds and specialized applications can be used - RSS aggregators. In this post I would like to give an overview of some of them that work under * nix.
Liferea
Liferea - Standard rss aggregator for Gnome, an application with an awkward name (an abbreviation of LInux FEed REAder is a tape reader for Linux), but with a powerful and intuitive set of functions. There is the ability to automatically determine the format of the tape, it is embedded in the notification area, it can display links in its own window (using Mozilla, which requires installing the liferea-mozilla package), as well as in any external web browser installed in the system. Liferea has a convenient, clear and localized user interface.
Some features:
* Support RSS / RDF, CDF, Atom, OCS, OPML.
* Filters for screening out websites or postoperative tapes.
* Application support (podcasting).
* Configure the update interval for each tape, HTTP compression and e-tags.

Raggle is a console rss aggregator written in Ruby. Features of the aggregator: conveniently customizable combinations of hot keys, support for proxies, esport / import OPML, support for themes, support for various versions of rss. In addition to Linux, it also works great under FreeBSD, Mac OSX and OpenBSD. In general, the perfect choice for * nix machines without X'ov.

RaggleAkregator
Akregator - rss aggregator, now for KDE. It supports both different versions of the RSS format, and Atom. The number of useful functions also includes a search by headers, storing tapes in folders and setting up archiving. News feeds appear like emails in email clients. Web sites referenced by the feeds can be viewed in the Akregator embedded browser or, if desired, in an external browser.

Straw is just like Liferea, a rss aggregator designed for users using Gnome.
The main goal of the aggregator, as stated by the developers, is to create an rss aggregator convenient and, most importantly, an easy-to-use aggregator for reading news channels. As well as integration with Gnome.
Main characteristics:
* Support RSS and Atom.
