DirectX 11: AMD pure victory

Unfortunately for all dedicated fans of nVidia products (to whom I belong) and to the greater joy of AMD, the latter not only won the race “DirectX 11 to the masses”, but still half a year can do anything with the conquered market segment: once again postpones the serial production of video cards based on Fermi.

Without force majeure (and this can be very likely), the first video cards based on DirectX 11 supporting processor with the architecture of nVidia Fermi will appear only in March 2010. The company plans to release two processors: GF100 (also known as GT300) in March and GF104 in the second quarter. And on their base will be produced GeForce GTX260, 275, 285 and 295 video cards.

Since autumn, AMD managed to start selling several quite adequate products of both the higher and middle price segment (one of the latest video cards, the Radeon HD 5770, is quite good for its price, I checked it myself ).

It turns out that nVidia in this case was not even in the position of catching up, but in the position of the loser. Moreover, many people call Fermi "the disappointment of 2009". And not so much due to its technical characteristics, but because of frequent transfers: November, December, and now March 2010.
