Razer arctosa

My acquaintance with the Razer Arctosa began with an online store. Just one evening I was bored with my keyboard, and I decided to change it. The services were as follows: the backlight is not needed, because I type blindly, necessarily black, a full set of keys, a low enter, to which I was used, separated by a small gap of caps lok, a pleasant appearance, a rather modest keystroke (because I type quickly enough). Well, I did not want the keyboard to rumble when working. The contestants fell off one by one, until there was only one - Razer Arctosa. Just a couple of clicks - the order is issued, tomorrow it will be possible to take.

I got the product in perfect condition, no bruising or damage to the package. The box is strong enough, framed in Razer brand colors:

In it, finally, the keyboard, carefully packed in porous polyethylene. I took the Black model, which differs from Silver in that the black keys have the same symbols on the black keys. It looks like a miracle like this:

Still not connecting to the computer, I ran a little fingers on the buttons. Pressings are light, soft, almost all keys are pressed easily and naturally, including “big” ones, such as a space or backspace.

The case itself is made of black glossy plastic, the stand for hands is made of matte, so there are no special prints or greasy marks on the case. A question of accuracy of use.

By the way, in that envelope is a booklet, a CD with drivers, a couple of stickers, and a certificate of authenticity.


In the upper right corner there is a panel with multimedia keys and three bright white LEDs, a capslock (left), a numlock (in the center), a scrollock (on the right) (by the way, can anyone explain why it is?) . Indicators are shining, by the way, be healthy, the light spot is clearly visible on the ceiling at night.

The keyboard responds to pressing very quickly, many keys are split into separate lines, so in the same races you can safely press the space + forward + any of the turntables, no problems arise, for which a special thank you to the Razer engineers.

Together with the drivers, the configurator is also installed, in principle it is intuitive, quite conveniently made, only the installer itself is translated, it seems, by a machine, which is not good. The configurator looks like this:


You can record a macro with any key, with delays from 50 to 2500 ms, macros are saved to profiles, profiles are attached to applications, in general, everything is simple and clear. You can also choose which player to control with multimedia keys. Because I use JetAudio, and his multimedia keys work the same way as in Windows Media - he was chosen. In addition to WMP, Winamp, iTunes and Real Player are also on the list.

Why is she here? Yes, everything is simple. The fact is that Razer does not just call its keyboards. Tarantula, Lycosa (which stands for the same tarantula, but in Latin), and Arctosa are the genera of the developed, fast and strong wolf-spider family. However, all the same epithets can be easily transferred to the Razer products, which I tried to describe today in this review :)
