Adobe Systems said that on Thursday it had
an agreement on the acquisition of
Scene7 , which will help Adobe in creating services to provide interactive content.
Scene7 offers interactive content hosting, especially for providing images to websites.
With this acquisition, Adobe wants to expand its publishing services to interactive content. Earlier this year, executive director Bruce Chizen said that the company intends to offer an online version of Photoshop later this year.
Financial terms of the acquisition, which is expected to end in May, were not disclosed. Scene7 CEO, Doug Mack, was appointed vice president of Adobe Creative Solutions.

Despite the fact that Adobe is the largest supplier of boxed software, company representatives say that online services will play an equally important role.
