Life without rebut

Good luck to you, people.

Many probably wondered: how many days can the most popular standard operating system live without rebooting?

I happened to make a funny experiment.

')
The end of the year, at work, everyone is getting ready for holidays, production stops, and we begin preparations for the whole job. Prevention, installation of new equipment, repair, repair, replacement. All these works, as a rule, are carried out on holidays, while people are resting and production costs.

And now, checking another computer, I noticed an interesting thing ...
It should be noted that this machine is engaged in the fact that it monitors several technological installations (they work around the clock, seven days a week), nothing special, it controls nothing, does not affect anything, but simply collects and logs all sorts of different parameters. This is the usual Tseleron with WinXP-Pro SP2.

I noticed a beautiful number of days in uptime. image

254 days without a reboot, how nice ... I was wondering one or two byte days in Windows;) I decided to wait a couple of days and see what happens.

Here's what happened the next day: the photo here I took a photo, preparing in advance for the “Photoshop!” Exclamations;)
It was 18 hours and some minutes before the hour. I am waiting further ...

The next day, when I got to this car, it was after reboot. Raising the logs and checking the time, I found that the reboot occurred just at the time when the number of days in the uptime had to change, it was early morning, no one was near this machine, food was not lost, and there ups are pretty .

So here. As shown by my observation WindowsXP can not live more than 256 days. If any of you, dear habrovchane, made similar observations, share.
I googled on this topic, I found several forums where people claim that WinXP lived for more than a year without rebooting, but I don’t really trust those forums.

PS I foresee the reasoning on the topic of security and the need to restart when installing updates, but this question is beyond the scope of this publication.
