Rejector.ru - update

Article posted at the request of LMik . If you have any questions, he will be happy to answer them.

A week has passed since the publication of an article about the new service Rejector.ru . During this time, we received from you a bag of letters with virtual kicks and a bag of thanks. A great job was done with a file in order to bring everything into a divine form. And here is our report.

These are your stats!

In principle, it is not entirely correct to build statistics on the service week of the service, but maybe someone will be interested in:

')

- DNS requests were processed - more than 2 000 000;

- Of these, erroneous requests - about 100,000;

- blocked by users - about 10,000;

- Of these, phishing requests are blocked - about 5,000;

- in the DNS cache - more than 300,000 entries;

- average response time - <10 ms;

- average server load ~ 0.0003%.

Changelog and all-all-all ...

Dynamic IP

The biggest stone in our garden was the problem of users working with dynamic IP. And we caught this stone! =)

In the control panel, in the Network section, you can set a network with a dynamic IP address (geeks, do not touch us for this phrase, this is the thesaurus of our service! =)). Instead of IP, in this case, the identifier of your network is indicated, or, in a simple way, the name of the host (hostname). By the way, a nice bonus: your hostname automatically becomes available by the name hostname.thisip.ru ; hyphens and periods are allowed in the hostname.

We also wrote a client application for Windows! It is quite concise, you can download it here - http://rejector.ru/_files/rjdnsc.zip .

If for one reason or another you cannot use our application (Mac'i, hello! We remember about you!), Our DynDNS compatible API is available for you:

- at checkip.rejector.ru - the current client IP is issued,

- at http: // [USERNAME]: [PASSWORD] @ updates.rejector.ru / nic / update? Hostname = [YOUR_HOSTNAME] you can update your current IP for the network with the identifier YOUR_HOSTNAME. BASIC authorization is required.

The operation of the iron DynDNS client was tested on D-Link routers, such as DIR-300, DIR-655, etc.

Bookmarks without redirect

Another serious problem went into oblivion: from now on you can match the domain name with any IP address (the Bookmarks section). It turned out a kind of analogue of the local file hosts. Why do you need it?

For example, a web developer needs to keep several virtual hosts on a server or local machine. Or you have no desire to remember on what IP your corridor webcam lives. Or do you want your retracker.local to wake up from lethargic sleep. In this case, enter mappings in the control panel:

staging.superproject.ru 127.0.0.1

admin.superproject.ru 127.0.0.2

web-camera 192.168.0.1

retracker.local 212.1.226.162

Recognition of a retreker for local networks

When requesting retracker.local, we check from which network you are from and try to return the IP of your local retreker. In our database, so far only a few ranges of the NetByNet network, and we hope for your help in replenishing this base. Send your IP addresses, IP retresers, network name and / or a link to the network site to support@rejector.ru marked RETRACKER .

"Little things"

Small in scope of work, but no less significant changes:

- the login form has been corrected, it now swears in case of errors, it is also possible to memorize your session;

- in the "Blog" section added RSS feed;

- registered twitter http://twitter.com/rejector_ru ;

- the second server was accelerated;

- several bug fixes and optimizations.

Current TODO

- Accesists for masks;

- Scheduled Accesists;

- the ability to clear the statistics;

- community to update the host database;

- browser toolbar;

- your suggestions in the comments to this material.

End Offtop

All offtopic we ended on the way. So just want to congratulate everyone on the upcoming holidays, success to you in the New Year !!!

PS: do not drink much =)
