I use Windows a lot) And I’ve got used to the fact that since 1995 there’s such a thing as a clipboard in the system, and it always works the same way. Maximum you need to do some non-standard actions to get the text there. For example, for the SSH PuTTY terminal client, select the text with the left mouse button.
But when using putbu in Ubuntu, an unexpected problem arose: copy the text that is “here it is before my eyes” into another application.
Decision
At least in Gnome. The desired text in the putt is highlighted with the left mouse button . In the desired other window (for example, IDE), click the middle mouse button, and the text selected in another window is inserted .
Open questions
Why the text does not fall into the real buffer, from which you can paste Ctrl + V?
How to set it up?
I suspect that on a mouse with only two buttons for insertion you need to press them both, no?
