It is inspired by yesterday's apocalyptic evening, which I spent struggling with the weather on Yaroslavl.
Personal anti-record speed - almost 7 hours from Kostroma to the Moscow Ring Road, and all because of the unexpected snow.
Introduction to the topic
A few weeks ago, in the Vladimir region on the M8 highway, the first turn of the notorious “Vladimir Hill” was opened. This site has traditionally been considered the most difficult and the most dangerous on the entire route - about 20 kilometers of steep ascents and descents, sharp turns, a narrow road, high curbs and constantly forbidden overtaking.
Before the opening of the detour, not a day passed without a major accident. The usual scenario looked like this - a loaded wagon with a forest in first gear climbs up the hill, after half an hour someone does not stand up and decides to overtake, the oncoming, sad ending ...
')
Here I tried on the map to depict what a detour looks like:
maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=106474660129920883535.0004783ea2139601d1b19&t=h&z=12the red line is a new road.
It is a good four-lane highway with a separator, markup and other necessary things. Except for a small segment in the north, where the new route connects with the old one.
Why did this happen?
Initially, the new road had to go much further, in perspective, going to the bypass road around Pereslavl. However, as always - not enough money. As a result, a small section was built, about a third of the plan, to the border with the Yaroslavl Region and connected with a bridge to the old road.
Here I also want to tell about this jumper.
And what happened?
And that's what happened. When moving from Yaroslavl to Moscow, several surprises await us:
- Sharp left turn from the “old” road to the new one. Fortunately, the turning area is illuminated, but this does not save the driver from the need to understand the mutually exclusive road signs on the move, which recommend to go to Moscow both straight ahead and to the left
- Immediately after turning on the “new” road, the driver is awaited by the signs “Speed limit - 60 km / h”, “Overtaking is prohibited”, “Steep turns” and a shield with a verbal warning “Dangerous stretch of road”
- Connecting the "new" and "old" road segment is really very dangerous - it is narrow and winding, also not illuminated
- And only after driving five kilometers along this “appendix” the driver finally gets to a new section. And here - attention - fanfare - the signs "60" and "Overtaking is prohibited" are not canceled!
All personnel of the Alexander traffic police is now engaged in catching the "violators" who don’t want to go at a speed of 60 km / h on the motorway, and, a mortal sin, they dare to overtake the neighboring lane on a four-lane road!
A curtain.
What to do?
And there are two options. Either an urgent psychiatric examination is required for anencephaly of the entire RosAvtoDor and traffic police personnel, as well as the design institute that invented it.
Or you need to look for someone who benefits from it ...
