Microsoft
Microsoft has reached an agreement on the purchase of a European mobile advertising company ScreenTonic. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Paris-based company ScreenTonic is one of the few companies that not only deals with mobile advertising, but also technically creates and maintains advertising platforms targeted at mobile users.

According to analysts, the recent “Big Internet Troika” (Microsoft, Google and Yahoo) has recently shown a noticeable interest in technologies and platforms for mobile advertising, so small companies operating in this field are buying.

Steve Berkowitz, senior vice president of the online division of Microsoft, says that ScreenTonic takeover "is one of Microsoft’s large-scale and long-term expansion into mobile markets."
