Design Studio Studio O + A (San Francisco) has completed a new project of the central office of the world's largest social networking site Facebook, in Palo Alto, California.
The main requirement for the aesthetic perception of the interior of the company's office with an audience of 200 million users is to make it cool! The office is located in the building of a former laboratory built in the 1960s with a total area of 14,000 sq.m. and accommodates about 700 employees. Designers reused most of the laboratory equipment and furniture. And it is not surprising because the laboratory equipment was manufactured by Agilent Technologies.

The interior uses color solutions that visually separate a large office space, designed for different departments. Some walls and spaces designers left unfinished. Employees can paint them themselves, add artwork, move furniture, allowing them to make a place convenient for work.

Throughout the project, Facebook was used to interact between employees and designers to learn preferences and keep up to date with all the news related to the new interior. The new Facebook office fully reflects the company's mission, positioning itself as a leader in the field of social networks, and also solves many of the problems of interaction.

Facebook management highly appreciates the opinion of each employee, so the entire staff took part in developing the concept of a new office. The advisory board of employees of each department collaborated with designers throughout the design process, from space planning to the final stages of finishing.

Company executives are located in the center of the office, and are accessible to all. Large halls and open spaces serve as a meeting place and contribute to the excellent interaction of employees.
The important point is the cafe and kitchen. The company took good care of the employees to eat comfortably and tasty at any time of the day. Drinks and snacks are also available in mini kitchens located throughout the office.

The project was developed taking into account the necessary environmental standards of the area. All the garbage is recycled, environmental industrial materials are used in the interior, most of the industrial and laboratory equipment has been reused for the office, the room is equipped with an energy-saving lighting system.
Update:

The designers perfectly combined the historical aesthetics of the building with a modern, dynamic concept, well suited to the company's young staff.
