Broadcom Corporation, the world leader in semiconductors for wired and wireless communications, announced its new generation of multimedia processors, which provide excellent application performance with low power consumption, designed specifically for mobile devices.
The new media chip is based on the VideoCore IV proprietary innovative architecture, which allows it to cope not only with playback, but also with video recording in 1080p quality. Moreover, according to the manufacturer, the BCM2763 processor supports 3D video games in Full HD resolution.

In addition, BCM2763 will provide new features built-in cameras. It is capable of processing images at resolutions up to 20 megapixels and can perform such functions as image stabilization, face and smile recognition in a frame, continuous shooting, “pasting” several shots into a panoramic photo.
It should also be noted that the BCM2763 is made according to the norms of the 40-nm process technology and consumes 40% less power than the previous Broadcom processor, which supported 720p HD Ready video playback.
BCM2763 will allow you to shoot Full HD video in continuous mode for 4-6 hours. The process of playing video on a device with BCM2763 can last 8-10 hours, while displaying HD pictures on a large screen - up to 16 hours.
Smartphones and media players on Broadcom BCM2763 will be available to the mass buyer no earlier than 2011.
