China has tightened the registration of domains to individuals

As reported by the Financial Times , Chinese authorities have closed registrations for individuals in the .cn zone. But according to Xinhua, this information is not true. In reality, the CNNIC national registrar entered a request for additional data during registration. In particular, personal presence and self-service filling in an application for domain registration is necessary.

These measures were taken to tighten control over the spread of pornography and illegal content on the Internet. The requirement of personal presence will scare adult webmasters and creators of pirated sites.

Recall that currently in China, such services as LiveJournal, Wikipedia and Facebook do not work.
