Someone Anton Olkhovik built a USB gamepad for NeoFreerunner. In this case, the phone itself is not subjected to soldering, but a special cape with buttons is used, which is connected to the phone via miniUsb, posing as a HID (human input device) device.

And this is what a phone with a cased casing looks like:
It looks scary of course, but better than this:

PS: When I first took this phone, I immediately liked how it lies in my hands - right joystick. That just did not like the lack of buttons. Apparently it wasn’t just me who interfered ...)
