FOSS Fest starts in Odessa
RootUA Media , UAFOSS , Odessa IT-Club and OdLUG are pleased to invite you to the FOSS Fest .
FOSS Fest is a monthly “informal” meeting of users and developers of free / open source software (FOSS) in Odessa. Once a year, in the summer, on the day of the system administrator (last Friday of July), there will be a reporting festival on the Black Sea coast.
The goals of the FOSS Fest are to ensure effective communication and exchange of experience of FOSS users and developers in the south of Ukraine; introduce everyone to the world of FOSS; support and develop FOSS in the south of Ukraine, in particular, in education and science, in state. sector and business sector.
Each month, the format of the meeting will change, including the following events:

First December FOSS Fest. New Year 2010 RC will be held December 26, 2009 . Cathedral of participants from 17.00 . The event starts at 18.00 .
As part of the festival, the film “Revolution OS” will be shown. This documentary tells the story of GNU, Linux, as well as open source and free software movements. It features interviews with famous hackers and entrepreneurs, including Richard Stallman, Michael Timenn, Linus Torvalds, Larry Augustin, Eric Raymond, Bruce Perens, Frank Hacker, and Brain Behlendorf.
In addition to the film, some organizational issues will be considered, in particular, on the organization of the next fest event. Raise the glasses for the coming New Year. Anyone can get disks with Linux OS.
In connection with the New Year, and not only, at our meeting there will be many surprises and pleasant surprises.
Ticket price is 20 UAH.
